A Journey of a Lifetime

This week I read an abridged version of Pilgrim’s Progress.  It is about a man named Christian who leaves his home and goes out seeking the Celestial City, which is like heaven.  I like how it is like real life how you have to go through hard things and some things that are easy.  First he goes out with Faithful, who gets killed, and then he finishes the journey with a man named Hopeful.

A lot of the names in the book are based on feelings or things you do, like Worldly Wise Man, Despair, or Evangelist.  I liked how the writer did this because it helps you understand that the journey in the book happens in real life, just not the same as in fighting giants and monsters.

I recommend this book to people who are interested in the journey to heaven and in medieval times.
